Red Hat 7.2: Software update stuck

Post by yang » Sat Dec 17, 2016 11:26 pm

So after I installed redhat 7.2, trying to upgrade to 7.3 kept getting frozen in software-update. So I ran 'yum update' and it seems to be stuck at:

Code: Select all

  Cleanup : initial-setup-0.3.9.1.el7.ppc64

So the problem to solve this is to login as root after you install rhel 7.2 into gnome.
Then open up terminal and add this command to "/lib/systemd/system/initial-setup-text.service":

"Before=serial-getty@hvc0.service" (without the quotes) within the first block of codes. This will bypass and install red hat 7.3
